The San Francisco studio is filled with history. It is owned and has been run by master sculptor Manuel Palos for a few decades. I still remember my first day there. Manuel shaking my hand with a warm smile, inviting me into his world with a child-like enthusiasm that never really leaves him.
I have spent many days by myself and with other sculptor in here. Each of us working at our craft in the cacophony of air hammers and diamond blades. The noise level quieting down only for our minds to catch up with what our hands were doing.
Remembering the awe and excitement of my first day, I can only look forward with eagerness to welcoming newcomers into this temple of dust.
